Heroes of the Lowcountry (HOLC) exits to provide mentoring services and economic financial support through scholarships to under-served students in Beaufort and Jasper Counties in South Carolina.
HOLC is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(C) (3) organization comprised of civic and community focused individuals who care deeply about the future of education for children in the Low Country. HOLC grew out of an initiative of the Campbell AME Chapel in Bluffton, South Carolina. Our vision is to provide financial assistance and personal mentoring to students who might not otherwise have college on their radar or the financial resources to accomplish their post high school educational goals. Since inception, HOLC has provided 241 financial scholarship awards to 45 active college students. Our long term vision is to meet the needs of underserved students in our serving community with mentoring opportunities to inform, motivate, educate, and provide financial assistance to maximize their greatest educational and
career objectives.

To fulfill our mission, vision, and values we rely on partnerships with other no-profit
organizations, school districts, and the generosity of like-minded community individuals
who have a passion for investing in our youth. HOLC hosts several fundraisers
throughout the course of the year, such as scholarship dinners, golf outings, and
souvenir books, just to name a few, to generate the financial support needed to “give back” to our students.
